Together with our partner, we are looking for a:

AI Search & Retrieval Expert

to join our team in Belgrade and help build scalable, high-quality, and cost-efficient search and retrieval capabilities. In this role, you will own the search and retrieval architecture, evaluation approach, and key technical decisions across evolving data contexts.

Your profile:

• Experience building, owning, or significantly shaping production search or retrieval systems in larger product environments

• Strong practical experience with vector, keyword, and hybrid search, including ranking, reranking, query understanding, chunking, metadata strategies, and relevance tuning

• Experience designing retrieval evaluation systems using golden datasets, human evaluation, automated metrics, regression testing, and failure analysis

• Ability to diagnose retrieval issues across data quality, indexing, embeddings, queries, ranking, permissions, product UX, and evaluation design

• Strong understanding of quality, latency, cost, and complexity trade-offs

• Experience working with messy, heterogeneous, or evolving data

• Strong judgment around what to build, buy, tune, simplify, or skip
